What this is:

Named after the phrase that starts the transformation sequence in Futari wa Pretty Cure, Dual Aurora Wave! is a site for screaming about the magical girl/mahou shoujo genre. At least, that’s what it was going to be, before Pike got sidelined by how much she loves one season of Precure in specific. Now it’s basically just a Futari wa Pretty Cure fansite. Regardless, expect reviews, analysis, meta, and lots of glitter and sparkles.

Currently, the posts are mostly made by Pike, with the occasional guest post by Ember. (See below!)

Who this is:

Pike:

Pike paid an absurd amount of money to go to school for fun things like “media and theatre” and “Japanese studies”. In retrospect she may not have been the brightest crayon in the box for choosing to do so, but at least she can pretend like she’s some sort of expert (dramatization: she’s really not) while she imports toys meant for six-year-old children and writes reviews.

In real life, Pike works in biotechnology (literally nothing to do with her college studies, because of course), and tweets a lot.

Ember:

Ember is Pike’s girlfriend and occasional guest blogger, and the reverse of her in that she has a science degree she almost never uses. She did start diving deeper into mahou shoujo anime while trading yuri recs with other members of her university’s LGBTQ Coalition, though, so the college education wasn’t a total waste. She spends a lot of time thinking and writing about video games and anime, especially the ones with lots of gay girls in them.
